fine art generally takes one of four shapes: beadwork, mythological
subjects, historical sideshow figures, and fantastic creatures. I use a
variety of techniques, but am especially fond of woodwork and sewing.
Working with a process is what makes me happiest. In woodworking, I
enjoy carving, lathe and bandsaw work, and general construction. In
sewing, I do both beadwork and leatherwork. The beadwork is usually
bead embroidery sewn directly on to velvet. The bird at left is an
example. When I do leatherwork, I make figures which my grandmother
aptly describes as my "dolls." I have shown in galleries throughout the
country, with the most prominent Wisconsin venue being The Flying Pig
Gallery and Greenspace in Algoma.
